The International and National
Conferences organised by NSC have been recognized
as important national events on Safety & Health.
So far 5 International and 11 National
Conferences including this have been organised
by NSC.

The
Conference discussed burning issues
like Road Safety, Disaster Management
and Developing Preventive OSH Culture.
Eminent CEOs from leading corporates,
from both public and private sectors
shared their visions and strategies
on these issues in the Plenary Session
P-1. The US experience was also shared
in the Session by Mr. Alan McMillan,
President & CEO, NSC- USA.

Separate sessions on the following 5
emerging sectors were included in view
of their growing importance in the Indian
economy and need to address the HSE
issues, in future:
- Service Sector
(Healthcare, Hospitality, Telecom, Air
& Rail Transport) in Session P-4
- Agricultural & Rural Work in Session
C-1
- ITeS-BPO in Session C-3
- Power Sector in Session C-9 and
- Educational Institutions & SMEs
in Session C-10

Port and Mining Sectors are known for
high hazards. These were included in
this Conference for the first time to
bring them into the mainstream of information,
communication and educational activities
on OSH.

Some of the NSCI Safety Awards winning
organizations have shared their efforts
for achieving the Awards including the
Best HSE Practices in the Session C-4.
There was a presentation by NSC- USA
on International R.W. Campbell Award.
NSC, India is a global partner of NSC-
USA for this Award. Further, there was
a presentation by Johnson and Johnson,
USA, winner of this Award for the Year-
2005 in the Plenary Session P-2.
