SCHEME

The National
Safety Council is currently operating three national level Safety Awards Schemes.
In each of the Schemes there are four levels of Awards. NSC members as well
as others can participate in these Schemes.
1. NSCI Safety Awards - Manufacturing Sector
This Scheme was started from the Awards Year 1998 and is aimed at recognising
industrial undertakings (Manufacturing Sector) for their consistent and meritorious
Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) performance and implementing effective
OSH Management Systems, practices and procedures and to encourage their further
commitment to OSH over a period of three calendar years preceding the Awards
Year.

2. NSCI Safety Awards - Construction Sector
This Scheme was started from the Awards Year 2005 and is aimed at recognising
construction establishments for their consistent and meritorious Occupational
Safety and Health (OSH) performance and implementing effective OSH Management
Systems, practices & procedures and for developing & strengthening effective
the Client - Contractor - Subcontractor chain for achieving high standards
of OSH in Construction Projects.

3. NSCI Safety Awards - Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (Manufacturing)
Considering the valuable contributions of the MSME Sector in terms of employment, production and exports, NSC launched a separate Safety Awards Scheme from the Awards Year 2009 coinciding with the year of Industrial Safety & Health 2008-09 declared by the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India. It is aimed at recognising Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for achieving meritorious performance & leadership, and encourage commitment of the management and workers in the field of Occupational Safety and Health.
