NSCI SAFETY AWARDS - 2008

Applications Invited for NSCI Safety Award-2008 (Construction Sector)

Objectives :

The objective of this award scheme is to recognize meritorious performance as measured by Longest Continuous Accident Free Period and Lowest Accident Frequency Rate and implementing effective OSH Management System for continual improvement in Construction Project and for developing and strengthening effectively the Client - Contractor - Subcontractor chain for achieving high standards of OSH.

Eligibility :

  • Any company or firm executing Building and Other Construction Work as defined under the BOCW Act 1996.
  • The project site registered as Establishment under the BOCW Act, 1996 or licensed under the Contract Labour Act, 1970; and
  • The project site employing 100 or more building workers and have worked for atleast 240 days during the Assessment Period.
  • Companies will have to submit separate applications for their different registered establishments.
  • The scheme is open for both members and non-members of the Council.

Awards Year : Calendar Year - 2008

Assessment Period : The calendar year previous to the Award Year - 2007.

In order to recognise the efforts of the Clients of Projects, which is very important for maintaining effective OSH Management System, the clients of the winning establishment will also be presented the same level of Award.
List of organisations that have scored (minimum 75%) will be published in Industrial Safety Chronicle and issued with Letters of Appreciation.

Application Form Fee : Rs. 500/- (for Members & Non-Members)
Entry Fee :

Rs. 10,000/- (for Members)
Rs. 12,000/- (for Non-Member)

Application form alongwith rules and regulations for participation in the NSCI Safety Awards - 2008 can be obtained from NSC Office by sending the request for application form duly filled-in with a demand draft for Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) drawn in favour of National Safety Council payable at Navi Mumbai / Mumbai in an envelope superscribed NSCI Safety Awards - 2008.
