NSC CHAPTER LAUNCHED IN GUJARAT STATE

 

 

The National Safety Council launched its Chapter  in Gujarat on 4th April, 07. It is an important milestone in the Council’s endeavors to extend its reach to all parts of the country for providing safety and health coverage.

 

The Chapter was inaugurated by Shri Mulubhai Bera, Hon’ ble Minister of Labour & Employment, Gujarat on 4th April, 2007 at a function organized at Mahatma Gandhi Labour Institute, (MGLI), Ahmedabad. Shri K. C. Gupta, DG, NSC and Shri Arunkumar Sutaria, IAS, DG, MGLI delivered  Keynote and Thematic Addresses, respectively.  The function was attended by over 250 representatives of NSC member industries in the State of Gujarat and State Government Authorities.

 

Presently, NSC has a fairly large membership from the State – a total of 481 members comprising 353 Corporate, 6 Trade Union, 65 Life and 57 Individual members. As such a strong need was felt for a Chapter in the State to focus state - based issues and organize  activities and provide services in local language.

 

The Government Authorities, Industries and Trade Union Members in the State  of Gujarat  have shown keen interest  and extended their  full support in setting up of the Chapter.

 

An Ad-hoc Executive Committee of the Chapter has been formed under the Chairmanship of Shri Parimal Nathwani, Group President - Corporate Affairs, Reliance Industries Ltd., Jamnagar.

 

The Chapter would be functioning from the Mahatma Gandhi Labour Institute, Drive-in Road, Memnagar, Ahmedabad-380 052, (Phone : 079-27913347) with full support of the state Government and Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, Gujarat .
