WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
The World Environment Day (WED) established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 is a people's event. It inspires action by governments, industries, community groups and individuals to improve the environment. It provides unique opportunity to raise awareness on environment and mobilise action by all stakeholders. The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has invited people world over to celebrate the WED on 5th June 2013 with enthusiasm. UNEP has declared the theme for WED 2013 as “Think.Eat.Save”.
