BASIS OF ASSESSMENT

 

1.       Manufacturing Sector

          The assessment of applications is based on :

The assessment is objective and comprehensive.

Applications would be evaluated under two parts viz, Part A - “Safety Performance” and Part B - “Safety Management”. Various elements of Safety Performance and Safety Management on which the assessment would be made are given in the Application Form. Part A carries maximum 100 points and Part B 150 points and the total is 250 points. The information furnished in the Applications will be assessed and points awarde d. 

The process also involves verification of the data provided in the application through the Chief Inspector of Factories and Chairman Pollution Control Board of the concerned states, personal presentation before the Awards Committee by senior representatives of the top short-listed contenders and field visits by technical teams of NSC to a few selected plants.

 
2.    Construction Sector

       The assessment of applications is based on :

The assessment is objective and comprehensive.

 Applications will be evaluated under two parts viz., Part-I: Safety & Health Performance with a maximum score of 100 points and Part -II: Safety Management System and Procedures with a maximum score of 150 points. Thus the total score will be 250 points. Various items of safety performance and management system and procedures on which the assessment will be made are given in the application form, which may be revised by the Awards Committee whenever necessary.

 The process also involves verification of the data provided in the application through the Client Organisation, personal presentation before the Awards Committee by senior representatives of the top short-listed contenders and if necessary, field visits by technical teams of NSC to a few selected sites.

-           Safety talks delivered by Office Bearers

-           Functions like National Safety Day/Week, Fire Service Week, World Environment Day

-           Publication of Safety Leaflets in Regional Language

-           Safety Awards / Competitions organised

-           Free membership services provided

-           Important Visitors to the Chapter

-           Representation on the Govt. Committees


Awards Committee

The Awards Committee is constituted by the Board of Governors. The Chairman of the Council is its Chairman and the Board approves the members of the Committee. The composition of the committee is as follows:
