NSC has so far conducted five International Conferences with a remarkable success. The XIII World Congress held in April, 1993 on Occupational Safety and Health is the most prestigious international event organised once in 3 years by the International Labour Office (ILO) and the International Social Security Association (ISSA) in collaboration with a national level apex body/institute. It was a pride for India to be the first venue for such a Congress outside Europe and North America. It was the first time that this Congress was held in any Asian or Developing Country. For NSC it was a unique distinction to have been chosen for hosting the Congress as a national level apex body on Safety and Health in the Country. The success of the World Congress has reaffirmed Council's standing among the reputed safety councils of the world and as a Centre of Excellence.

The Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Labour, Shri P.A. Sangma had conveyed his appreciation for successful holding of the World Congress stating it to be a crowning glory and that the arrangements for the World Congress were meticulously planned and ably executed and did our country proud.
