SYNOPSIS OF VIDEO CDs |
||
| 1. | SO - YOU ARE IN CHARGE ? | |
| Professionally produced, in a dramatic style, "So - You Are in Charge ?" shows some of the problems of attitude that can be encountered by the new trainee manager on site and emphasises his responsibility for the safety of others. We see his introduction to the Site Manager and Staff; his gradual realisation both of his own lack of safety knowledge and of the poor safety standard on site; his inevitable meeting with a visiting Health & Safety Enforcement Officer resulting in the issue of a "Prohibition Notice" ; and his attempts, to put matters right. We learn of half hearted attempts, by his employees, to provide him with safety training and we see. In the cause of "progress" which inevitably result in a serious site accident. A proper appreciation, by Site Managers, of the responsibility of "being In charge" is vital. We believe this CD illustrates this important point in a vivid and easily understood way. | ||

SAFE DRIVING
|
|
|
The CD on Safe Driving is professionally produced by the
Council in collaboration with LPA and sponsored by Eicher Motors Ltd.
The film is in Hindi with a duration of 22 minutes. The film highlights
several aspects of safe driving of heavy goods vehicles. The CD covers
pre-operational checks;2-and 4 seconds rules of safe distance; driving
in rain and on hilly roads; importance of road signs- mandatory, cautionary
and informatory; emergency information panel for the vehicles transporting
dangerous goods; correct methods of overtaking and reversing; hazards
of combining drinking and driving; etc. The film also emphasizes the importance
of taking rest pauses or breaks during long drives and maintaining correct
posture of the driver while driving. The lead protagonist of the film
is a driver sharing his personal experience of a road accident. This has
a strong emotional appeal on the viewer which stresses that one accident
is enough to ruin the life of a driver. A strong AIDS Message is also
conveyed in the film. The film would be found useful for increasing safe
driving awareness among all goods vehicle drivers.
